NEWS:

UKATA have introduced an on-line Certification Scheme.  Anyone who completes an Asbestos Awareness course will be registered with UKATA from the 1st August 2011.  This will help HSE determine how many operatives have undertaken Awareness training.

The Regulations require mandatory training for anyone liable to be exposed to asbestos fibres at work. This includes maintenance workers and others who may come into contact with or who may disturb asbestos (eg cable installers) as well as those involved in asbestos removal work.

This is a half day Asbestos Awareness course following Regulation 10, this is for those persons who are liable to disturb asbestos while carrying out their normal everyday work, or who may influence how work is carried out.

The course has 3 sessions:

Session 1

The nature of asbestos, sources and uses

Typical uses of asbestos in construction materials

Asbestos related health effects and diseases

Session 2

Overview of legislation

The control of Asbestos Regulations 2006

Regulation 4, The Duty to Manage Asbestos in Non-Domestic Premises

Session 3

Safe working procedures

Use of Personal and Respiratory Protective Equipment

We can deliver each half day session for up to 15 delegates, please contact us for further information and costs.
